Echocardiogram

This is a commonly used study to evaluate the valves and chambers of the heart in a noninvasive way.

Condition diagnosis:
Heart murmurs, Abnormal heart valves, Pumping functions (heart failure), Post heart attack muscle damage, Infection in the sac around the heart (Pericarditis), Infection on or around the heart valves (Infectious Endocarditis), Post TIA or CVA blood clot or emboli, Congenital heart disease, Atrial fibrillation, and Pulmonary hypertension.

This test may be performed for a large array of conditions ranging from Alcoholic cardiomyopathy to Ventricular septal defect.
